Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has explained why he has been spending time in Osun State despite recently releasing a new album.
The singer has in recent days been actively campaigning in support of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the Osun State governorship election.
Davido has also engaged critics and social media users over his support for the governor, making his political involvement a major talking point.
Speaking during a campaign rally in Osun State on Friday, the singer acknowledged that his latest album had just been released but said his commitment to the state compelled him to put his music activities aside temporarily.

Prompt News reports he explained that he wanted to personally assess the situation in the state because of his concern for the people.
“I just dropped my album, but I had to come down and focus on Osun State so I could see the situation myself because I genuinely care about my people,” Davido said.
