Comedian Anita Asuoha, better known as Real Warri Pikin, has announced the cancellation of her upcoming show in Warri, Delta State, blaming what she described as “unfortunate divisions” within society.
The comedian disclosed the decision in a statement shared on social media, expressing disappointment that disagreements had emerged in circumstances where she believed people should be united.
Real Warri Pikin said the show, which was scheduled to take place in the coming weeks, could no longer go ahead because of issues linked to the divisions.
“It is deeply disappointing that, at this stage in our society, we are still confronted with division where there should be unity,” she said.
“It is therefore with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of my Warri show, which was scheduled to take place in a few weeks, due to circumstances arising from the unfortunate divisions currently at play.”
While announcing the cancellation, the comedian stressed that the development would not limit her career or the reach of her brand.
She said her identity extended beyond her hometown, local government or family background.
“But I need to make something very clear. The Real Warri Pikin brand is bigger than where I was born,” she said.
“I am not limited by my local government. I am not defined only by where my father comes from or where my mother comes from.”
The comedian said she viewed herself as a representative of people across Delta State, Nigeria and Africa.

“I represent every local government in Delta State. I represent Delta State. I represent Nigeria. I represent Africa,” she said.
She added that being a woman had further broadened her sense of representation beyond geographical and cultural boundaries.
“And as a woman, I represent women across tribes, races and borders,” she added.
Prompt News reports Real Warri Pikin did not identify the individuals or groups involved in the circumstances that led to the cancellation, nor did she announce a new date for the event.
She, however, insisted that the cancellation would not stop her from pursuing her ambitions.
“There are no limitations to what God has called me to do on this earth, and I will not allow anyone to reduce that calling to geography, tribe or politics,” she said.
Expressing her continued love for Delta State, Nigeria and Africa, she added, “I love my state deeply. I love my country. I love my continent. And I will continue to work, build and use every gift God has given me to contribute positively to the places and people I represent.”
The comedian also thanked fans and well-wishers who supported her during the period, saying she held no resentment towards those whose actions contributed to the situation.
“To everyone who has stood by me, made calls, offered counsel, encouraged me and comforted me through this period, thank you. I do not take your support for granted,” she said.
“And to those whose actions have contributed to the division that has brought us here, I hold no bitterness towards you. My prayer is simply that God gives us all the wisdom to understand that we achieve far more when we build together than when we divide ourselves.”
Concluding her statement, Real Warri Pikin said the cancellation would not affect her broader vision.
“The show may be cancelled, but the vision is not.
“I am Real Warri Pikin. I am proudly Delta. I am proudly Nigerian. And I will continue to do what God has called me to do,” she concluded.
