The Acting General Secretary of the NFF, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, on Saturday commended the U17 women national team, Flamingos, for their performance at the WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup in Côte d’Ivoire and praised the team for representing Nigeria well.
He charged the players to take the same triumphant spirit and determination to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals in Morocco this month, and ultimately target a podium appearance.
Speaking on behalf of the team, captain Harmony Chidi assured the NFF and Nigerians that the Flamingos will not fail in their responsibility.
She said the players are determined to repay the trust placed in them by the Federation and the country at the World Cup finals, taking place 17 October – 8 November.
