The family of late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is set to hold a prayer gathering to mark 40 days since the veteran actor’s death.
His daughter, Kira Taiwo, announced the programme on Instagram on Wednesday, inviting relatives, friends, colleagues and well-wishers to join the family for the gathering.
The event will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground in Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State. The prayer is scheduled to commence at 12 noon.
Prompt News reports Ogogo was buried at the same location on August 24, a day after he died at the age of 66.
The invitation shared by Kira featured a photograph of the late actor and announced: “You are invited to the 40 days prayer for Alh. Al-Hassan Babatunde Taiwo ‘Ogogo.’”
Family members, friends, fellow actors and other associates of the veteran are expected to attend the gathering as they remember his life and decades of contribution to Yoruba-language cinema.

Ogogo died on August 23, 2026, after spending more than 40 years in the Yoruba film industry, where he established himself as an actor and prominent figure.
The 40th day prayer is being organised in accordance with Islamic tradition as the family continues to mourn and honour the late actor.
