Nigerian singer Naeto C has opened up about the deliberate break he took from his music career, revealing that his family played a central role in the decision.
In a recent interview on Beat FM, the ‘Ten Over Ten’ hitmaker explained that the pause was a conscious choice, driven by a shift in personal priorities following major life events.
The ‘Kini Big Deal’ singer reflected on how his outlook changed after he and his wife, Nicole, welcomed their first child in 2013, just a year after tying the knot in 2012. “For different reasons you know, I think I wanted something different when I thought about my future and the kind of life I wanted,” he said.

He added, “I got married in 2012 and I had my first child in 2013, so looking at it back then, I do not really think I would get the kind of life I wanted if I continued to focus on music.”
Born Naetochukwu Chikwe, Naeto C rose to prominence in 2008 with his hit single Kini Big Deal.
Prompt News reports his early career earned him critical acclaim, including awards such as ‘Best New Act’ at the 2008 MTV Africa Music Awards, ‘Best Hip Hop Single’ at the 2009 Headies, and ‘Best Male Video’ at the 2009 Soundcity Awards.
Since then, Naeto C and Nicole have built a family together, now blessed with three children.
