The Kano State Police Command has arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and severing his manhood during a violent altercation in the Badawa area of the state.
The command disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Monday, saying the victim sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
According to the police, the suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident, while detectives have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the attack.
“The Kano State Police Command has arrested a female suspect for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and completely cutting off his manhood during a violent altercation in Badawa,” the statement read.
The command added that the victim remained hospitalised, while efforts were ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The latest case adds to a series of similar attacks reported in different parts of the country in recent years.
In May 2025, a woman identified as Gift was arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after she allegedly bit off the tip of her lover’s penis during a dispute that reportedly began after he demanded sex.
Similarly, in October 2024, the Ogun State Police Command arrested a 28-year-old woman, Yemisi Ogunlana, for allegedly using a sharp object to sever her husband’s manhood during a domestic quarrel in the Oko Oba area of Ogijo.
In another incident reported in June 2024, a newly married woman in Kaduna State allegedly attempted to cut off her husband’s manhood before neighbours intervened and prevented the attack.
