Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has declared that the team is fully focused on maintaining Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football, Prompt News Online reports.
The reigning champions head into the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco as one of the tournament favourites after lifting a record-extending 10th continental title at the previous edition.
Nigeria produced a remarkable comeback to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final, further cementing their status as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.
Justine Madugu’s side are determined to retain their crown and secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Ajibade expressed confidence in the team’s preparations, insisting the players are fully committed to going all the way and successfully defending their continental title.
“The team’s spirit is high. Everyone is fully focused. We know why we’re here and we are ready to take things one step at a time. So we’re 100 per cent ready,” Ajibade told a press conference in Rabat.
The Super Falcons will begin their title against the Scorchers of Malawi at Al Madina Stadium, Rabat on Tuesday night.
