Fans and followers of gospel singer and evangelist Bunmi Akinnanu, popularly known for her hit song “Omije Ojumi,” are mourning her sudden passing.
The singer, aged 46, reportedly battled an undisclosed illness linked to her leg since 2025, but efforts to restore her health were unsuccessful.
The news comes just a day after Pastor Segun Arole inquired about her well-being on Instagram, expressing concern and urging those close to her to provide updates.
He wrote, “Where is Singer Omije Oju mi?. We heard that she was sick and we donated money. You can’t tell us to be praying without knowing her condition. What are the Yoruba Gospel artistes doing about this? People close to her should please update us about her situation. If she needs more money for medical treatment, let us know. This woman must not d!e.”
Social media has since been flooded with tributes and messages of grief. Actress Funke Etti simply expressed, “Haa.”
Mary Nurpsey reflected on past warnings, writing, “OMG ohhhhh no maybe if she had listened to that person that sent her the prophecy of her sickness back then this would have been avoided.”
Olowoone added, “The hilarious Yoruba prophet saw this coming cause he made a video 2 days back asking about her health issues. This is really heartbreaking.”
