Award-winning filmmaker Funke Akindele has appealed to movie lovers to refrain from recording or circulating clips from her newly released film, Behind The Scenes, stressing that piracy could negatively affect its success.
The actress and producer highlighted that the movie, which premiered in cinemas on December 12, reflects the emotional struggles and hidden realities that often accompany fame and success. She also revealed that the project was inspired by a divine message and brought to life by a strong cast that includes Tobi Bakre, Iyabo Ojo, Scarlet Gomez and Ini Dima-Okojie.
Taking to social media, Akindele warned that even short video clips captured inside the cinema amount to piracy and undermine the effort invested in the production. She encouraged fans to show support by promoting the film responsibly.
She wrote, “Say no to direct & indirect piracy. Hello my beautiful fans. We’re super excited that Behind The Scenes is showing in cinemas, but please let’s say a big no to recording any scenes of #BehindTheScenes in the cinema. Recording or posting clips, even short ones is also piracy.
