Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has opened up about her views on marriage, saying she never grew up feeling pressured to settle down and never spent time imagining what married life would look like.
Speaking in an interview with Ifedayo Agoro, Kadiri explained that marriage was never something she actively desired or planned around.
According to the actress, she had always believed in her value and felt that anyone who eventually became her husband would be fortunate.
“I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to marry. I knew I was a catch and anyone that was going to marry me was going to be lucky,” she said.
Prompt News reports Kadiri also shared details of how she met her husband, revealing that their first encounter happened in a work setting when he approached her and struck up a conversation.
She said that just as she was leaving, she felt a spiritual conviction that he would become her husband.

However, despite that experience, she later blocked his contact.
“As I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me he’s my husband. Two days later, I blocked him, but he went the extra mile to find me. Months later, he proposed to me and I accepted,” she added.
