Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has responded to a fan who claimed she financed her own wedding to her younger husband.
The actress had made the remarks during an interview with Deacon Famous, where she discussed her marriage and the age difference between her and her husband.
Ogbodo said she was only a few years older than her husband but was surprised that some people believed she was his mother.
She also shared her opinion that women have increasingly become providers in relationships, while accusing some men of being more concerned about their own needs than those of their partners and children.
Following the interview, a fan took to the actress’ comment section to suggest that her view was influenced by her personal experience.
The fan wrote, “Of course you won’t blame a woman who sponsored her own marriage with a younger man for saying women are more providers in this generation. She is speaking from her personal experience, but she shouldn’t generalise it biko.”
Ogbodo, however, rejected the claim that she paid for her wedding.

Prompt News reports she urged the fan to respect her former husband and give him credit for his contribution to the marriage.
“Uncle, I never sponsored my marriage! Last thing I would ever do till I kpai! Respect my ex-husband; he did his thing,” she replied.
