Nigerian singer Portable and Nollywood actor Charles Okocha are preparing for another showdown as they return to the boxing ring to continue a rivalry that has stretched for years.
The celebrity rematch, themed ‘Unfinished Business’, is billed to hold on July 31 at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Promoting the event, organisers teased fans with a dramatic announcement: “Here comes the chaos! Africa, the stage is set. Now we settle the score. Portable, Charles Okocha, Agbaje, Musa. Four fighters, one ring, no more talk. July 31st.”
This latest contest follows their first meeting in the ring three years ago, where Portable emerged as the winner.
The tension between both entertainers began in 2023 after Portable accused Okocha of failing to honour a financial agreement connected to a brand deal.
The singer had claimed that the actor did not pay him N20 million as expected after the collaboration.
Prompt News reports Okocha denied the allegation and insisted Portable initially approached him looking for “friendship.” According to the actor, he later invited the singer to an event because he “wanted to help a brother.”

He further argued that no formal contract existed and said Portable did not make any significant contribution during the event. Okocha added that he still paid the singer “a whopping N5 million” afterward.
Their disagreement eventually moved from social media exchanges to a public boxing challenge, leading to their first match.
The announcement of the rematch also comes after Portable recently lost another celebrity boxing encounter to streamer Carter Efe.
