Nigeria winger Moses Simon is up for the best African Player of the Year award in the French Ligue 1, Prompt News reports.
The 29-year-old is nominated along 11 other players for the award named in honour of Marc-Vivien Foe, a former Cameroon international , who died after collapsing on the pitch in 2003.
The other nominees are; Lamine Camara, Habib Diarra, Moussa Niakhaté, Evann Guessand, Hamed Junior Traoré, Yahia Fofana.
Also nominated for the award; Achraf Hakimi, Eliesse Ben Seghir, Amine Gouiri, Himad Abdelli, and Abdoulaye Touré.
Simon has been in fantastic form for Nantes this season, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 25 league appearances for the Canaries.
He will be looking to emulate compatriots Vincent Enyeama and Victor Osimhen, who won the award in the past.
Enyeama was the first Nigerian to win the award in the 2013/14 season.
Osimhen won it during his time with Lille in the 2019/20 campaign.
