Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North, has spoken out to clarify the controversy surrounding his wife, Regina Daniels’ age when they got married.
The discussion resurfaced online amid the couple’s ongoing marital crisis, with some social media users alleging that the actress was only 17 when she tied the knot with the politician.
In a recent statement released by his communication team, Nwoko set the record straight, saying that Regina was 19 years old at the time of their marriage and not 17 as widely claimed.
He stated that their union was conducted openly and with the full involvement of her family. According to him, Regina’s mother personally introduced her to him before their wedding.
“For clarity, Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, that means she got married at 19 years old, not 17,’’ the statement read in part.
“The public witnessed her family giving her out in marriage, and there were witnesses to the fact that her mother personally brought her to me.
“Our customs and traditions do not frown upon polygamy. What I did was to marry her honorably, give her a name, and treat her with dignity.
“Beyond the social media lifestyle, my world revolved around Regina. I pampered her and cared for her deeply, something everyone who has worked with me across Delta, Abuja, and beyond can testify to.”

In response, the senator alleged that his wife was battling drug and alcohol addiction.
Last week, Regina admitted to using hard drugs but claimed that her husband played a role in her addiction, accusing him of manipulation and control.
