At least three people are feared dead after a heavy downpour triggered flooding across parts of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Monday.
The rainfall, which lasted for nearly two hours, caused extensive damage, with several bridges submerged and the bridge along Afao Road collapsing.
Several houses, shops and churches were reportedly inundated by the flood, while residential and commercial buildings, fences and electricity poles were also damaged.
An elderly woman, another woman and a commercial motorcycle rider were reportedly swept into a canal by the raging flood.
As of Tuesday, their bodies had yet to be recovered, raising fears that the three victims may have drowned.
Four other people who were swept away by the flood were, however, rescued.
The flooding also left some residents stranded, with those unable to return home after the downpour reportedly spending the night away from their families before returning on Tuesday morning.
In the Olorunda area, two people were also said to have been swept away after floodwaters overwhelmed a bridge reportedly already showing signs of collapse.
The Afao bridge similarly gave way on Monday amid the heavy flooding, disrupting movement in the area.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, said he would respond to the incident later.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Environment, Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe, urged residents across the state to prioritise their safety and exercise caution whenever there is heavy rainfall.
