Fulham star Alex Iwobi will lead the Super Eagles in tonight’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday two encounter against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau, Prompt News Online reports.
Captain of the team, Wilfred Ndidi will start the game from the bench, according to SCORENigeria.
Iwobi will take charge of a reoragised midfield after the Super Eagles laboured to a 2-1 home win over the Barea of Madagascar last Friday.
The former Arsenal midfielder is currently the most capped player in the Super Eagles.
The 30-year-old made his 101 appearance for the three-time African champions against Madagascar.
The Super Eagles centurion club now has Moses Simon, Vincent Enyeama, Joseph Yobo, Ahmed Musa and Iwobi.
Tonight’s encounter slated for the September 24 Stadium in Bissau will kick-off at 5pm Nigerian time.
