Afrobeats star Fireboy DML has shared his thoughts on fame, music rankings, and public perception, revealing that he is more concerned about his fans’ support than critical acclaim or chart positions.
Speaking during an appearance on the 90s Baby podcast, the Peru singer explained that having listeners who genuinely connect with and appreciate his music is enough motivation for him.
Fireboy noted that he does not lose sleep over being listed among the industry’s top artistes, stressing that he is already fulfilled knowing there are fans who hold him in very high regard.
According to him, this perspective has helped him remain focused on making music rather than chasing external validation.

“I don’t really care about Top 5 or Top 10, as long as I have fans who rate me. I know that I have fans that think I’m the best artiste in the whole world. And that is good enough for me. I’m a very contented person,” he said.
Prompt News reports the singer added that this outlook keeps him grounded and allows him to concentrate on his craft without being distracted by critics, ratings, or industry expectations.
