The first wife of late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has spoken emotionally about her husband’s death, describing him as her “everything” and a man who stood by her through difficult periods.
Ajoke Taiwo, who said she had been married to the veteran actor for more than three decades, revealed that she was also an actress before she left the profession to focus on raising their children.
According to her, she met Ogogo through the movie industry, but eventually decided to stop acting because someone needed to remain at home to take care of the family.
Speaking about her late husband, Ajoke described him as a caring man who played multiple roles in her life and was always concerned about her happiness.
“I am Ajoke Taiwo, the first wife of Ogogo. He was a very good man, a caring husband and he truly loved me. He was like a father and mother to me. He stood by me during the times of trial. He was my everything.
“What God took from me is so big and it really hurts me but I can’t question Him. This is a wound that can never heal. He never wanted me to get angry at him. Whenever I get extremely angry, he used to land at the hospital because he would be so hurt.”
Prompt News reports the actress-turned-homemaker said Ogogo was devoted to their children and remained supportive of her throughout their marriage.
Her comments came days after the death of the 66-year-old actor, whose passing was announced by his daughter in an emotional video.

Ogogo, who was a prominent figure in Yoruba-language cinema, died after battling stage-four cancer. His death came shortly after his family appealed for medical assistance as his health deteriorated.
The veteran actor was later buried in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, according to Islamic rites, with family members, colleagues, traditional leaders and other mourners attending his funeral.
