Wizkid Blasts Burna Boy Over Clash With DJ Tunez

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Wizkid has weighed in on the recent altercation involving Burna Boy and his official DJ, DJ Tunez.

The incident occurred on Monday at Obi’s House, a popular weekly Afrobeats gathering in Lagos. What reportedly began as a heated exchange between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez quickly spiralled into a physical confrontation, with members of Burna Boy’s entourage allegedly stepping in before the situation was eventually brought under control.

Although the cause of the clash remains unclear, many have linked it to long-standing tensions within the industry, particularly DJ Tunez’s close working relationship with Wizkid—often compared by fans to Burna Boy.

Reacting on X, Wizkid openly defended his DJ, accusing Burna Boy of acting unfairly during the incident.

“P***y nigga, jump a DJ with 10 men, carry Diddy towel Dey dance. I never see fool like this Diddy babe for my life,” he wrote.

Earlier, DJ Tunez, also known as Ogbafia, had taken a swipe at Burna Boy by calling him a “coward” and posting “All Signs of Weakness”—a phrase widely interpreted as a dig at Burna Boy’s album title No Sign of Weakness.

Burna Boy appeared to respond with a mocking video, where he was seen dancing to Money Constant, a track by DJ Tunez featuring Wizkid and others. While singing along, he altered the lyric “Ogbafia dey my side” to “Ogbafia dey for ground,” before dramatically falling—an action many viewed as a direct jab at the DJ.

Prompt News reports the situation further escalated on Tuesday when the Nigerian DJ Association announced a ban on Burna Boy’s music across its network, pending further review of the incident.
