Nigerian singer Brymo has challenged established stars in the music industry to step back and allow younger talents greater visibility.
Speaking during a recent interview on TVC, the Ara singer criticised what he described as attempts by some of his colleagues to maintain dominance in the industry through the popular “Big 3” narrative.
Prompt News reports Brymo specifically mentioned Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy, arguing that the focus should now be shifting toward emerging acts.
According to him, younger artists such as Rema should naturally be leading conversations around pop music rather than industry veterans.

“We need to stop talking about how the new artists don’t have lyrical substance and focus on how some artists want to lock down the industry for themselves with the ‘Big 3’ narrative and continue reigning forever.
“They should shift aside. Right now, Rema should be the biggest pop star in the country without any doubt. All this talk about Wizkid, 2Face, Olamide, Burna Boy. Why? In the Pop scene?? Wetin dem dey sing? You can plug the radio but nobody likes your stuff anymore. Move aside, evolve.”
His comments have since generated conversations online about the place of veteran acts and rising stars in Nigeria’s music industry.
