Apparently to avoid national embarrassment, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acted promptly on the exclusive story published by Prompt News, approving full allowances and bonuses for the Super Falcons ahead of the WAFCON final scheduled for Saturday, in Rabat, Morocco.
Prompt News had reported exclusively on Wednesday, warning about looming national embarrassment as paucity of funds threaten Nigeria’s quest for the 10th WAFCON title.
But, in a swift reaction, President Tinubu has directed the National Sports Commission (NSC) to ensure that the Super Falcons are paid full allowances before the final match.
The chairman of NSC, Shehu Dikko, confirmed on Thursday, that all entitlements up to and including the final on July 26 had been disbursed for immediate payment to players and officials.

According to Dikko, the gesture is a demonstration of the renewed commitment to Nigerian athletes under the Tinubu administration.
“This is the kind of sports administration we are building, one rooted in dignity, trust, and shared prosperity.
“Future generations would appreciate President Tinubu’s reforms in the sports sector,” the NSC chairman said.
