Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan has shared his thoughts on the recent tension between actresses Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele, following a viral moment at a movie premiere.
Clips from Iyabo Ojo’s film premiere showed Abraham attempting to greet Akindele, who appeared to ignore her, sparking widespread reactions online.
While some criticised Akindele’s response, others argued that Abraham should not have approached her if their relationship was strained.
Speaking in an interview with Feel Right TV, Hassan made it clear he prefers to stay out of such disputes, especially those involving women.
“If Toyin and Funke have sense, they should know God has favoured them. I don’t interfere in women’s matters,” he said.
He added that conflicts involving women are often escalated, making it difficult for outsiders to intervene.
“Something that will happen that men will just laugh over, if it happens to women, it is always worse than Hitler’s war, so it is hard for anybody to interfere.
“Any man who interferes is stupid. What is the reason for the fight? God blessed the two of them already, and the next thing they think is right is to be fighting. Very soon, they will come back to their senses. It is not even my business.”

The tension between the two actresses has been ongoing for years, dating back to 2021 after the release of Abraham’s film The Ghost and the Tout Too, which drew comparisons to Akindele’s box office successes.
Prompt News reports in 2024, Abraham addressed the rumours, attributing the perceived rivalry to competition within the industry and speculation from the public.
