Popular Nigerian reality TV star and media personality Anita Natasha Akide, widely known as Tacha, has declared her growing interest in political affairs, especially in her home state of Rivers.
In a recent interview with media host Ebuka, the Port Harcourt-born influencer voiced her dissatisfaction with the current state of governance in Rivers State. She expressed frustration over what she described as the government’s failure to tap into the state’s vast potential.
“When I look at other states like Abuja and Lagos, and I see how far they’ve come… and with the potential Rivers State has, they’re not trying to exploit it. It’s just very disappointing,” Tacha said. “There are so many youths, so many talents there. So many things that if the government can see light into, a lot can happen.”

Tacha emphasized the need for young people to move beyond complaints and take active roles in shaping the country’s future through direct involvement in governance.
“Change doesn’t happen by sitting outside and complaining. It happens when people actively involve themselves in government activities,” she added.
Hinting at a possible political move, Tacha revealed that she is working on a project tied to governance but prefers to keep the details under wraps for now.
“It is something I’m working on. I’ll have to make it 70% done before I can talk about it. Because it does not make sense granting interviews like this, talking about the government without being involved,” she said.
