New manager Arne Slot also enjoyed a perfect start to life at Liverpool.
Ipswich Town went toe-to-toe with Liverpool in the first half but failed to take their chances when they presented themselves.
Liverpool however took control of the game after the break.
The Reds make their breakthrough on the hour mark through Jota.
Salah added the second five minutes later to effectively put the game beyond the hosts.
