Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has claimed that some of the country’s biggest music stars have become too comfortable with wealth and fame, a situation he says is affecting the quality and depth of their songs.
In a video broadcast, the “Zazu” crooner argued that leading artistes such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and Olamide have lost touch with everyday realities, insisting that their music now focuses largely on women and luxury lifestyles.
According to him, this shift has reduced the motivational and moral value of their songs, leaving ordinary listeners without meaningful inspiration.
Prompt News reports he also urged fellow musicians to return to more reflective and spiritually uplifting themes in their music, including gospel and conscious content, warning that wealth should not overshadow purpose.

“I noticed that Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Olamide don’t praise God in their songs, they only sing about ladies. Is it because they already have money and they believe they can’t fall? Their songs have no motivation. No sensible lyrics. Just women and vanity.
“Make conscious music. We are tired of all those songs about frivolities. I am also a musician. You all should do better,” he stated.
