The Osun State Police Command has arrested two men in connection with a burglary operation in which valuables estimated at N3m were allegedly stolen from a residence in the state.
Among the recovered items was an iPhone 12, which one of the suspects allegedly bought for just N25,000 after it was stolen.
The suspects were identified as 27-year-old Eyelade Anuoluwa, allegedly linked to the burglary, and 28-year-old Abdullah Musa, accused of receiving some of the stolen property.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, saying Anuoluwa was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, following intelligence gathered by operatives of the Ilesa Area Command.
According to the police, the suspect allegedly broke into the complainant’s residence on July 26, 2026, and made away with an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, an iPhone 12, an Android phone, two power banks and recharge cards.
The stolen items were valued at about N3m.
The suspect was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, where he allegedly confessed to the offence.
The police said further interrogation led Anuoluwa to disclose that some of the stolen valuables had been handed over to a receiver in Ibadan.
Acting on the information, SCID operatives launched an intelligence-driven operation and arrested Musa in Ibadan.
Musa allegedly admitted receiving the stolen property and was subsequently questioned over his suspected involvement in a syndicate dealing in stolen goods.
The police said the suspect also confessed to purchasing the stolen iPhone 12 from Anuoluwa for N25,000.
Items recovered during the operation included an HP laptop, Dell laptop, small Samsung phone, mini DP charger, two power banks, an Apple iPad with 16GB capacity and a scrap phone.
The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Ibrahim Zungura, praised the operatives for their diligence and effective use of intelligence, which he said resulted in the arrest of the suspects and recovery of some of the stolen property.
The command said investigation was continuing to determine the extent of the suspects’ activities, identify other persons allegedly connected to the crime and recover more of the stolen items.
It added that the suspects would be prosecuted after the completion of the investigation.

The police also advised residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons and activities promptly to the appropriate authorities.
