Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has spoken publicly for the first time following the reported collapse of her marriage to Bobby Maris, the father of two of her children.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page, the actress appealed for understanding and respect, saying she would not be discussing the circumstances surrounding the end of her marriage unless it became absolutely necessary.
Prompt News reports Ogbodo said many people have formed opinions about her personal life despite not knowing what truly happened behind closed doors.
“I understand that many people have opinions about my personal life. The truth is, no one knows the full story except the people who actually lived it. Yet, social media has a way of making everyone believe they know more about someone else’s life than the people living it,” she wrote.
The mother of three explained that her attention is now focused on her children, personal healing and rebuilding her life.
“My priority right now is raising my children, my healing – however, that journey unfolds – and moving forward with dignity and peace of mind,” she said.
Ogbodo also made it clear that she would not publicly address the details of her failed marriage for now.

“I will not be discussing the details of my marriage publicly unless there is an absolute need to do so. Until then, I respectfully ask for understanding, kindness, and respect for me and everyone involved.”
She concluded by expressing gratitude to those who have shown empathy rather than criticism during the difficult period.
“Thank you to everyone who has chosen compassion over judgment.”
