Nigerian socialite and cross-dresser, Idris Okunneye, widely known as Bobrisky, sparked a buzz by claiming he had been arrested by immigration officials.
On Tuesday, Bobrisky posted on Instagram, suggesting that he had been detained, which quickly drew reactions from his followers.
However, he later confessed that the entire post was just an April Fool’s joke.
The m prank comes after Bobrisky’s earlier announcement about leaving Nigeria to focus on his health and well-being.
His move out of the country was reportedly linked to a previous incident in April, when he was sentenced to six months in prison for allegedly desecrating the naira.
