Veteran Nollywood actor Kunle Omisore has spoken candidly about his failed marriage, revealing the emotional struggles he has faced since his divorce.
The Yoruba actor discussed his experience during an interview with African A-List, where he touched on divorce, fatherhood, loneliness, relationships, betrayal and surviving a gunshot.
Reflecting on the end of his marriage, Omisore admitted that recovering from divorce is a difficult process which he believes requires divine healing. He explained that although he no longer holds on to the pain, the experience has become part of his life.
The actor also opened up about loneliness, saying having women around him does not replace the companionship that comes with having a wife.
Prompt News reports he recalled moments when he would return home troubled but have no partner to comfort him. To prevent his children from noticing his emotional state, he said he sometimes remained in his car before going inside.
“It’s difficult; it’s only God who can heal a divorcee. I am not holding on to the hurt; it’s just going to be a part of you. You cannot live out of it. You’ll feel lonely in the house; it’s not like you don’t have a woman who can satisfy you, but that is different from having a wife.
“There are times when you know that when you’re troubled, someone would calm you down. Instead, I will get home, I will park outside for a while, and wind down, so those children wouldn’t know something is wrong with me.”
Despite the collapse of the marriage, Omisore said he does not regard the union as a failure because it produced what he described as “glorious children.”
“I didn’t suffer a failed marriage because glorious children came from it,” he said.

“In the next ten years, I want to go back to Europe, live a quiet life and raise my children in the way of the Lord,” he said.
