Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has opened up about his health challenges, revealing that he has been praying that God would take him when his time comes rather than allow him to become a burden to his loved ones.
The actor spoke about his condition on Wednesday during a visit to ailing colleague, actor Emmanuel, in Accra, Ghana, as part of his legacy tour.
While consoling Emmanuel and sharing his own experience, Edochie disclosed that he has been experiencing difficulties with walking and occasional swelling in parts of his body.
The veteran actor said he remains hopeful about recovering despite the challenges he is currently facing.

“Sitting down here, I’m not very well myself. I’m not. Walking is a problem for me now. I still have hope that I will recover. Sometimes I got up and discovered that some parts of my body were swollen and after sometimes, they go down again just like my hand is swollen now.
“I just keep asking God, you are the offer of life. Whenever you feel it’s time for me to go, just take me. Don’t let me bother the people who are around me. No, just take me.”
Prompt News reports Edochie’s comments came as he offered words of comfort to Emmanuel, while reflecting on his own health and the desire to avoid placing additional pressure on those around him.
