Hunters in Kebbi have neutralised one suspected bandit and recovered 74 stolen cows being herded into Niger Republic.
The incident occurred at JarKuka in Bachaka ward of Arewa Local Government Area, the state Commander of Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service, Musa Hussaini- Rambo told newsmen on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him, the stolen cows have been handed over to relevant authorities for onward delivery to their owners.
Hussaini-Rambo also said the hunters have arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of amoured cables.
He said that the one of the suspects specialises in vandalism and theft of armoured cables while the other buys the stolen items at N5000 per kilogramme.
The commander said that the two were arrested in Gwadangwaji area of Birnin Kebbi.

“We are going to hand them over to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps for further investigation and prosecution,” he said.
The commander reiterated the determination of the hunters to complement security agencies in the fight against crimes most especially in forests across the state. (NAN)
