Terem Moffi is determined to play a key role in helping Nigeria secure victory against Portugal in Wednesday’s international friendly at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria, Prompt News Online reports.
The encounter will mark only the second meeting between the two nations. Portugal emerged 4-0 winners when both sides last faced off in a friendly four years ago.
Moffi heads into the game in fine form, having scored twice in his last two appearances for the Super Eagles.
The 26-year-old is also familiar with Portuguese football after spending the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at FC Porto, where he helped the club win the league title.
The striker believes his knowledge of Portuguese football could prove valuable and has vowed to do everything possible to help Nigeria claim a positive result.
“I’ll try my best to lead the team as much as I can. I played in the Portuguese league and won the championship with FC Porto, although I only spent half a season there. I know a little about how the Portuguese national team play and how their players operate,” Moffi told TVC News.
