The family of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has released details of his funeral arrangements, with burial activities expected to end on June 18, 2026.
The actor reportedly passed away on May 11 after battling kidney cancer.
In an obituary notice shared via his Instagram page on Monday, the family appealed to the public to keep Ekubo’s wife and loved ones in their prayers as they mourn his passing.
According to the funeral programme, a service of songs will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos, between 4pm and 6pm. Guests attending the event are expected to dress in white.
The wake-keep ceremony has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at the family residence located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
The final funeral service and interment will hold the following day, Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Family members disclosed that the church service will take place at Mary Slessor School, after which the actor will be laid to rest at the family compound in Arochukwu.
A reception is also expected to follow immediately after the burial at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, with attendees likewise asked to appear in white attire.
