Former England international and ex-Gladiators host, John Fashanu, has removed his daughter, Amal, from his company following allegations she made about him in a recent media interview.
As reported by Sun, Fashanu, in a statement issued on Tuesday, described the claims attributed to his daughter in a report published by the Daily Mail as false and misleading.
The former football star denied allegations that Amal regularly visited him in Nigeria or managed his personal and business affairs.
He also refuted claims suggesting he suffered brain-related health complications linked to heading footballs during his playing career.
According to him, Amal only recently visited Nigeria for the first time to introduce a man she identified as her husband.
Fashanu further dismissed reports that he had been married five times, insisting he had only been married to three women and is currently with his wife, Vivian Fashanu.
He claimed his daughter may have counted her mother among his former wives despite the fact that they were never legally married.
The ex-footballer explained that his wife had recently appointed Amal as a director and shareholder in his company in a bid to strengthen family ties, but alleged that the gesture was abused.
He also denied an earlier report published in 2023 claiming Amal acted as his agent during his involvement in the television show Dancing on Ice.
Fashanu said, “The reports suggesting Amal visited me frequently in Nigeria or handled my affairs are untrue. She only came to Nigeria for the first time two weeks ago.
“I have not suffered injuries from heading footballs and I do not have any medical condition as being implied. I am perfectly healthy.”
He added that although he still loves his daughter, repeated violations of personal boundaries had forced him to distance himself from her.
The former Wimbledon striker also disclosed that he was considering legal action against the Daily Mail over the publication, accusing the newspaper of failing to contact him before publishing the story.
According to him, the development comes amid ongoing legal battles involving land disputes and other litigations he is currently handling.

Fashanu maintained that despite the controversies, he remains focused on other productive ventures and would seek redress through appropriate legal channels.
