A heated exchange between Nollywood stars Laide Bakare and Eniola Badmus stole the spotlight at the premiere of Owambe Thieves, a film by Eniola Ajao, held Sunday evening at Circle Mall, Lekki, Lagos.
A video from the event, which surfaced online on Monday, captured the moment Bakare confronted Badmus, resulting in a loud verbal altercation.
In the clip, Bakare questioned Badmus’s mental state, prompting a sharp glare from the latter before she walked off.
Tensions further escalated when a man, believed to be Badmus’s bodyguard, attempted to intervene, but Bakare refused to back down, continuing the confrontation.
Following the incident, Bakare took to Instagram to share screenshots of a private conversation between herself and Badmus.
In the chat, Badmus had taken offense at Bakare for posting an unflattering photo of her, referring to it as “animalistic behaviour.”
Responding in her post, Bakare labeled Badmus as ungrateful, claiming she had offered her one of her first acting opportunities at a time when producers allegedly avoided casting her due to her weight.
The incident has since sparked buzz across social media, with fans and industry watchers weighing in on the clash.
