Ademola Lookman will be hoping to win the first major trophy of his Atlético Madrid career when the Red and Whites take on Real Sociedad in the 2026 Copa del Rey final at Estadio de La Cartuja on Saturday.
Lookman has become an important figure for Atlético since joining the club from Serie A side Atalanta in January, Prompt News reports.
The Nigeria international has played a key role in Atlético’s run to the final, delivering crucial goals and assists against Real Betis and Barcelona.
The 28-year-old marked his debut in the competition with a goal as Diego Simeone’s men cruised to a 5-0 victory over Real Betis.
He was also on the scoresheet in Atlético’s emphatic 4-0 home win against Barcelona.
In just three Copa del Rey appearances, the tricky winger has registered two goals and two assists.
Across all competitions, the former Leicester City star has recorded six goals and four assists in 17 appearances for Atlético Madrid.
Atlético have won the Copa del Rey 10 times, with their most recent triumph coming in the 2012-13 season. They have also finished as runners-up on nine occasions.
Real Sociedad, meanwhile, have lifted the trophy three times and will be aiming to claim their fourth title.
