            Burna Boy Breaks Record as Africa’s Most Streamed Artist on Spotify in 2025

            Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has made history as the African artist with the most Spotify streams in 2025, amassing nearly 2 billion plays on the platform.

            The Ye singer recorded 1.986 billion streams throughout the year, surpassing fellow Nigerian stars including Wizkid, Tyla, Rema, and Davido to claim the top spot as the continent’s most streamed artist.

            Spotify’s 2025 streaming statistics show that Wizkid followed closely with 1.81 billion streams, securing second place, while South African sensation Tyla came in third with 1.67 billion streams. Nigerian artists Rema and Davido ranked fourth and fifth with 1.63 billion and 1.58 billion streams, respectively.

            The top 10 is rounded out by Asake (1.52 billion), Ayra Starr (1.47 billion), CKay (1.38 billion), Seyi Vibez (1.32 billion), and Mr Eazi (1.26 billion), highlighting the continued dominance of African music on global streaming platforms.
