Nollywood actress Irewole Olaniyan has been accused of having a prolonged relationship with a married man by his wife, identified as Mary Edris.

Mary made the allegation in a now-deleted social media post, claiming that the actress had been involved with her husband for about three years despite being confronted about the alleged relationship.

According to Mary, she initially contacted Olaniyan privately to discuss the matter. She claimed the actress told her she was unaware that the man was married, insisted that he was not her type and said she had blocked him.

Mary, however, alleged that the relationship continued afterwards.

She further claimed that the man had supported Olaniyan’s movie productions, trips and expensive lifestyle, alleging that the pair travelled to South Africa together in September 2024.

The woman accused the actress of causing problems in her marriage and appealed to her to stay away from her family.

She also alleged that her husband had ended his relationship with Olaniyan, but claimed the actress continued contacting him through different phone numbers and requesting financial assistance.

Prompt News reports Mary said she had remained silent for a long time but decided to speak publicly after what she described as repeated attempts to address the matter privately.

            In her post, she wrote:

“Irewole Olaniyan is a trouble in my marriage!
I’ve had enough; 3 years now, Ire has been seeing my husband.
I reached out to her personally as a lady to a lad, and she said she didn’t know he was married. This lady stays on my store street, knows my movements, knows when I’m at my store or home and claimed not to know the man is my husband.
            I let it go.
She said he is not her type of man and called him all sorts of names, including that she blocked him.
It doesn’t end there; she never stopped for years.
This man has been behind her movie productions and her trips; they travelled to South Africa together in September 2024, and there were expensive bags and a lavish lifestyle.
She portrays herself as a successful, hardworking, and consistent actress; meanwhile, she’s a home wrecker.
I’ve had enough; I’ve talked like an adult, and I’ve been quiet, but she has pushed my patience to the limit.
She has been a torment in my home/marriage.
            Irewole Olaniyan, home wrecker.
Irewole Olaniyan, Cynthia, stay away from my home.
He’s dumped your ass, but you won’t let him be, calling him and texting him from different numbers.
You’re always asking for money; you’re a leech. You are not what you portray to be; you’re a broke ass, and you know your lifestyle will have to be on hold; that’s why you kept begging him. Leave my family alone and stay away from us!
I want to apologise to my family and friends who might seem disappointed in me for coming out this way, but just know I’ve held my peace for so long, anfeelsd if you haven’t been in my shoes, you wouldn’t know how it fits.
            I can’t take it anymore”.

Mary also shared screenshots purportedly showing Olaniyan responding to the allegations. In the messages, the actress reportedly said she had ended the relationship with the man long ago and accused Mary of attempting to damage her reputation.

The allegations remain claims made by Mary Edris, while Olaniyan’s reported response disputes the account.
