Grammy-nominated Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has disclosed that she recently underwent major surgery, explaining her absence from social media in recent days.
Prompt News reports the 24-year-old singer shared the update in a post on her Instagram page on Thursday, apologising to fans for not being as active online as usual. However, she did not reveal the reason for the surgery or provide details about her health.
According to the music star, the operation turned out to be more complicated than doctors had initially anticipated, but she is now focused on getting enough rest before returning to work.
“Hey Mobstarrs, I’m sorry you’re not seeing as much of me as I would like. I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery but it was more complicated than they expected,” she wrote.
Despite her recovery, Ayra Starr urged fans to continue supporting her forthcoming project, Starrgirl, by spreading the word and placing their orders.
“I just need a bit of rest and I’ll be back!!!” she added.
“Starrgirl is coming so soooon, I need everyone out there spreading the word, tell your friends, your family, your neighbours!!! Order Starrgirl asap!!! Love you guys.”
