Nigerian singer and songwriter, Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has made history by becoming the first African artist to receive a Latin Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The 23-year-old Afrobeats sensation achieved this milestone through her international hit collaboration, ‘Santa’, featuring Latin music stars Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro.

The 2024-released track has amassed over 35 million streams, cementing its global impact and earning the prestigious Latin Diamond status.
With this feat, Ayra Starr joins fellow Nigerian artist Rema, who previously earned an RIAA Latin Platinum certification, further highlighting the growing influence of African artists on the global stage.
Since her official debut in 2022, Ayra Starr has continued to break barriers and redefine the sound of Afrobeats with her distinctive voice, style, and international collaborations.
