Taiwo Awoniyi has been honoured by Nottingham Forest with a commemorative shirt to celebrate his 100th appearance for the club, Prompt News Online reports.
The milestone was achieved during Forest’s 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago, with Awoniyi scoring twice to make the occasion even more special.
The 28-year-old striker was presented with the commemorative shirt during Friday’s training session.
“Thank you guys. This would not have been possible without you guys. For all you have done this season, for where we are, for keeping the team in the Premier League,” the powerful striker told his teammates after receiving the shirt.
Awoniyi has registered four goals, and one assist in 15 league appearances for the Tricky Trees this season.
The Nigeria international joined Nottingham Forest from FC Union Berlin in 2022.
