Nigerian actor and content creator Bamidele Tope Saint, popularly known as Okemesi, has made a public appeal for assistance after an alleged spiritual attack reportedly left him paralysed and without shelter.
Okemesi made the emotional plea on Thursday during an interview with fellow actor Tony Montana. The actor, who has been largely absent from the screen for nearly a year, revealed that his condition deteriorated after what he described as a severe spiritual attack.
Speaking during the interview, Tony Montana expressed concern over Okemesi’s appearance and condition, saying, “I’m very sad seeing you in this condition. It is difficult for people, including your fans, to recognise you. What happened to you?”
Responding, Okemesi said, “It was a spiritual attack. May God protect us from spiritual arrows. I was taken to Island Hospital, and people donated to foot my bills. But we realised it was beyond the hospital when my condition worsened. That was when the people with me searched for my relatives’ numbers on my phone.”
He explained that he was later taken to Osogbo by his elder brother for spiritual intervention. “My senior brother in Osogbo asked them to bring me to him. He picked me up from the motor park and took me directly to an Islamic cleric for a solution. It was a serious attack. I became crippled,” he said.
Okemesi added that prayers and spiritual care played a major role in his recovery. “It was the prayers from people and God’s miracles that revived me. I couldn’t talk or stand. I began to walk with crutches a few hours after the Alfa gave me some spiritual items to use the same day I arrived.”
According to the actor, his ordeal did not end there, as his brother also reportedly faced serious challenges. “My brother was also attacked after I left the cleric’s place to stay with him for proper care. He was involved in an accident and also had a marital crisis with his wife,” Okemesi said.
He disclosed that he was forced to leave his brother’s home and has since been living on church premises. “I had to leave his place and started staying on church premises. I don’t have a place to sleep, I don’t have anything. In fact, it’s difficult to feed,” he stated.
