Nigeria finished in fourth position at the 2026 African Senior Athletics Championship in Accra, Ghana, Prompt News Online reports.
The West African nation won a total of 12 medals (four gold, five silver, and three bronze).
Team Nigeria won its final gold medal of the competition in the final of the women’s 4x400m on Sunday.
The quartet of Esther Okon, Toheebat Jimoh, Jecinter Lawrence, and Patience Okon-George clocked a time of 3:29.25 to win the race.
South Africa successfully defended its title in Ghana, claiming 20 medals (nine gold, three silver, and eight bronze.
Kenya and Ethiopia are the other countries that finished above Nigeria.
