Falconets head coach Moses Aduku says his side still have areas to improve despite their emphatic 10-1 victory over New Caledonia at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Prompt News Online reports.
Nigeria produced a dominant display against the tournament debutants in their final Group F fixture in Lodz on Sunday, securing a place in the Round of 16 with the resounding win.
The result saw the Falconets finish second in Group F with four points from three matches.
However, Aduku insists the team must quickly address the lapses in their performance as they prepare for the knockout stage.
“For us, the World Cup is just starting. We thank God for the 10 goals and for qualifying for the next round, but like I said, for us, the World Cup is just starting,” Aduku said after the game.
“We thank God, but this one, the win against New Caledonia, is done and dusted. We look forward to the next game.
“We had some lapses despite the win, but we will go back and take care of them.”
The Falconets will face England on Thursday for a place in the quarter-finals.
