Black Stars winger Antoine Semenyo has urged his teammates to remain focused following Ghana’s hard-fought victory over Panama at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Carlos Queiroz’s side kicked off their Group L campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Los Canaleros, courtesy of Caleb Yirenkyi’s dramatic stoppage-time winner.
Semenyo, who earned the Man of the Match award for his impressive display, emphasized the need for concentration as Ghana prepares for a crucial encounter against England.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game,” Semenyo told Ghanasoccernet.com.
“We are not going to get ahead of ourselves. We want to win that game, but we know it’s not going to be easy.”
The Black Stars currently occupy second place in Group L, behind leaders England.
They will take on the Three Lions at Gillette Stadium next Tuesday in what promises to be a key fixture in the race for a place in the knockout stages.
