Four young men from Tsangai village in Moyori Ward, Yusufari Local Government Area of Yobe State, have reportedly died in Algeria while seeking better livelihood opportunities.
The deaths were confirmed in a condolence message issued by the Executive Chairman of Yusufari Local Government, Adam Jibrin, on Tuesday, September 28, 2026.
Jibrin said the deaths had plunged the families of the deceased, their community and the entire local government into mourning.
He described the four men as promising youths who had travelled to Algeria in search of better opportunities and improved living conditions for themselves and their families.
“It is with profound sadness and a deeply heavy heart that I received the heartbreaking news of the passing of four promising young men from Garin Tsangai, Moyori Ward, Yusufari Local Government,” Jibrin said.
The chairman said their deaths represented a painful loss to their immediate families and the wider Yusufari community.
“Their untimely departure is a painful and irreplaceable loss to their families, their community, and the entire people of Yusufari Local Government,” he added.
Jibrin expressed his condolences to the parents, siblings, relatives and friends of the deceased, praying that Allah would grant the four men eternal rest and give their families the strength to cope with the loss.

He also prayed for the safety of other young Nigerians travelling abroad in search of economic opportunities and called for divine protection for communities against further tragedies.
