The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River has promised to run an all-inclusive government under the administration of the governor-elect, Sen. Bassey Otu.

Chairman of APC in Cross River, Mr Alphonsus Eba, said this on Thursday in Calabar during an interaction with newsmen.

He said that the idea was to pick the best hands that would work for the interest, growth and development of the state irrespective of party affiliations.

The APC Chairman said that was why the governor-elect had declared the outcome of the March 18 governorship election as that of “no victor no vanquished”.

According to him, election has been contested and won, hence there was a need to close ranks, foster peace and unity for the growth of the state.

Eba used the occasion to thank residents in the state for their overwhelming support and votes during the March 18 election in the state.

He said that the emergence of Otu indicated that the traditional governorship zoning arrangement practiced in the state was still strong.

Eba called on all residents in the state to join hands with the incoming administration with a view to move the state forward.

“The emergence of Sen. Otu as governor-elect in Cross River has shown that the people of state have risen beyond ethnic and tribal sentiments.

“Sen. Otu is a good product that the APC marketed to the people of Cross River and it manifested through the votes we got from the field that crowned us the victory.

“I want to re-assure the people of the state that the incoming governor will run an all-inclusive government were the best hands will be appointed into various offices.

“As a party, we are going to review the seats we lost at the national and state assembly election; especially were there were cases of over voting.

“Similarly, we won’t waste our time contesting the outcomes of the election in areas where we failed justly,” he said. (NAN)
