Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced a cash gift of N50m to the Super Eagles ahead of their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Benin Republic, Prompt News reports.
Abiodun gave out the money when the Super Falcons visited him in his office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta on Monday.
The Governor said the gesture is in recognition of the Super Falcons inspiring performances and to further motivate the team for the task ahead.
The Super Falcons will entertain Benin Republic at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta on Tuesday (today).
Justine Madugu’s side won the first leg 2-0 courtesy of goals from Chiwendu Ihezuo and Esther Okoronkwo.
The winner over two legs will advance to the WAFCON 2026 finals.
Morocco will host the biennial competition in March 2026.
