Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage is gearing up for her much-anticipated return with a new album, This One Is Personal, slated for release on August 29.
The project marks her first full-length studio album since Celia in 2020, ending a five-year hiatus from major releases.
On Tuesday, Savage took to her X account to share details about the 13-track album, which she says explores themes of growth, resilience, and personal struggles, all delivered through her signature Afrobeats sound.

The album was created across Nashville, London, and Lagos, and features only a select few guest appearances, including UK rapper Skepta and emerging artist Taves.
“This album is my story, so I kept the features limited. I wanted you all to feel me in every song. The few features I chose were very intentional, with people who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy. It’s less about numbers and more about connection,” Savage revealed during a fan Q&A on X.
Tiwa Savage explained that the album reflects her journey over the past five years, encompassing her experiences with career transitions, motherhood, and personal growth.
Fans worldwide have already expressed their excitement on social media, connecting over the hashtag #ThisOneIsPersonal as they anticipate the album and engage with Savage’s insights into its creation.
