Victor Olatunji has reacted to his historic display in Sparta Prague’s UEFA Champions League clash with Austrian club, RB Salzburg.
Sparta Prague defeated the visitors 3-0 at the Stadion Letna on Wednesday night.
Olatunji scored once and also recorded an assist in the game.
The 25-year-old made history as the first Nigerian to score and also provide an assist on his maiden UEFA Champions League appearance.
The forward also entered the history books as the third African to achieve the feat.
He revealed his desire to score before kick-off.
“I just wanted to put the ball in the back of the net. It was my only dream for tonight,” he told UEFA.com.
“We always play like a team – I really enjoyed it. For the third goal, I could have shot but I wanted to give us a bigger chance [of scoring], because missing that chance would not have been good for the team.”
Olatunji also reflected on his team’s victory in the encounter.
“I feel good, I feel great and I’m very happy for myself, because I worked hard to get to this point. I’m also happy for the team,” he added.
